Well the water leak repair man Jason came and he had it fixed in 15 minutes. A pex pipe joint came apart. One crimp and done. I asked him if he had anything with him to fix the fresh water hose connection, he tried a new washer which I already did. He even went to the local hardware store but couldn’t find a female hose end repair in 1/2 inch. They only come 5/8 and 3/4 inch. He brought along his son Nicholas with him which was fun for Sal. He was about 8 years old. Nice boy. They played good together. After they left the neighbor next to us came over to tell me the water hose was leaking. Shocking, I had no idea! I turned it off after I filled the tank.
The next day on our way to Mississippi I stopped at a Lowes. After about 45 minutes in the store I came up with a couple brass fittings that would reduce the hose connector down to 1/2 inch. I bought a coupler and clamps just in case after cutting the hose end off I could join it back together if my solution did not work. So then we headed to the Yogi Bear Jelly Stone Park in Pelahatchie Mississippi. I enjoyed the ride because once we were in Arkansas we got the trees and green landscape back! I missed the greenery.
We got to the Yogo Bear Park after they closed so we got our info packet from the front door and went to our site. The place was pretty much empty. It was nice though. The had a cool water park and pool. Lots of cabins and many trees which I though might kill the satellite TV but I got it to work. I hooked up and repaired the water hose. It doesn’t leak a drop of water anymore. Yahoo! We left first thing in the morning headed for Madison Georgia.
Well what can I say about the Country Boys RV park in Madison Georgia. Another loser park! I was glad it was just another one night stay. We headed for Myrtle Beach South Carolina first thing in the morning.
So the drive to Myrtle Beach was without incident. We stopped at a Kroger’s to stock up the pantry and frig. Not towing a car is the biggest let down of the whole trip. You really are trapped at the RV Parks. We only ate out one night at a restaurant that was right next to our park in Louisiana. We have had pizza delivered twice but it’s for me the biggest disappointment. The rental RV company doesn’t allow you to tow. Without a car I don’t think I would do this again.
So we arrived at Ocean Lakes Family Campground in Myrtle Beach, SC. Got lost trying to find our site. This place is big. We got hooked up and rode our bikes to the play ground by the beach. The weather is warm and sunny. It seems like a nice place. Beach, indoor heated pool, outdoor pool and kiddie pool. They are putting the finishing touches on a water park area that looks cool with slides and spray’s and what not. That opens next month. They also rent golf carts which we did since we are here for a week. They have an onsite food concession that we had lunch at. I won’t go back, sorry it was lousy. We all hit the laundry at the same time and did eight loads. Sal and GG were uncontrolled but what can we do, they are 3 and 4 years old!
After we rested for a while back at the rig we went to check out more of the park. They had a game/recreation room so we played there for a while. The kids had fun but when it was time to leave the real fun started. GG whaled like someone was killing her! She even did the “I WANT AUNT NOLA SONG”. It was not nice. We hopped into the golf cart and put the petal to the metal back to the rig with GG singing her song the whole way!
More on Myrtle Beach to come. Were are staying here to Thursday 5/12 and then on to Maryland for a one night stay before arriving home Friday afternoon.
